The terrified children are taken to an isolated cabin in the Australian bush, where armed criminals hold them hostage while waiting for a plane to make their escape.

Back in Downs Creek, police launch a desperate search for the missing children. As fear grips the small country town, frightened parents demand answers, with some turning their anger towards the bus driver's wife, blaming her husband for the children's disappearance.

Tensions escalate further when Chiswell and Brenda clash in a physical confrontation, leaving Chiswell with a black eye and Brenda bruised.

Meanwhile, David, Roy and Duncan find themselves caught in a dangerous situation. When the three boys attempt to help, their actions take an unexpected turn, leaving them with a problem they must solve before anyone gets hurt.

David also finds himself unexpectedly reunited with the dingo that helped him and his sister survive the Australian wilderness years earlier. But even this loyal companion cannot remove the dangers surrounding the children.

When David and Roy confide in David's uncle that money they had taken has gone missing, he becomes increasingly concerned for their safety.

With the criminals growing desperate, the police struggling to find the hostages and the children facing an uncertain future, every decision could mean the difference between life and death.
